What a difference a day makes. . .

Just a short post tonight because I should really be sleeping!

I had a good night at work! A new job has been made available and I’m going to apply for it! I can only keep my fingers crossed and hope I can get it because it will mean I will be able to stay in Dundee which will be good (at least for the time being)! It’s a team leader job in the new Phone Shop that my store will be getting in the coming months! The hours are perfect, no more late nights! :D

I may be jinxing this by writing about it but meh I’m just excited at the prospect!

A Catchup Post. . .

I know it’s been a long time, I agree so this is more of a catch up post!

I’ve not blogged for ages and if you’re actually reading this thanks! I’ve just had a lot on and yes that includes becoming addicted to Scrubs! I hadn’t seen past series 2 of the show and I decided randomly to start buying the box sets because I had finished watching Star Trek: DS9 (all the way through from season 1 to 7 for the second time!) and needed a new show to watch!

I got my grades back for last semester and yeh I’ll take them! :P 3 C’s a B and an A! :D All and all pretty good considering I found it hard to write the essays in the end!

The biggest news I guess I have is that I’m seriously considering moving back in with my parents, after I graduate or even after I finish uni if I can’t extend my lease to July, which is when I actually graduate. The only problem in doing this is that I would need to transfer to a new Tesco store to work in. I have the perfect store in mind but it’s if they will have the hours for me and will I be able to progress like I have been doing in my current store i.e. working towards Options (management programme). I guess I’ll have to seriously think about it all in April, that’s my personal deadline ‘plans after uni’ wise!

The latest bit of news I guess is that I have decided to sell my iMac, I came to the conclusion last night after I hadn’t switched it on for a proper amount of use in about 2 weeks! I’ve taken to living on my MacBook and it’s nearly as powerful as my iMac and it certainly has the same space and memory!

Anyway’s I should really get to bed, I’ve been feeling really meh lately with a sore throat and a cough grrrtastic!

MacBook Goodness. . .

Well what can I say I went and did it, to quote the Compaq man who was on my very first ever computer (well my first ever family computer heh) “Well you did it, you went and bought yourself a new computer!”. That was when I was about 10 or even younger and yes I’m that sad that I can remember it (although he did say it every time we had to restore the computer and lets face it, it was an early Windows 95 computer so that was like every other weekend haha).

I am now the proud owner of a late 2009 version MacBook and yes it’s so very awesome! I choose the MacBook because I liked the white design of it and I had a Black MacBook previously and loved it but felt it needed updating and more portability because it was a bit heavy (although compared to many high end Windows laptops it was feather light), so that’s why I went for the ever stylish MacBook and not the powerful MacBook Pro, which would just be wasted on me. Don’t let this MacBook fool you though it’s very for it’s size and price! I got it custom made to be complete with 4GB of RAM and 320GB of Hard Disk space which when compared to my iMac they are identical in those two respects. The MacBook also comes with a 2.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor which is really impressive in a consumer level laptop, as well as a good graphics card – a first for a laptop I’ve owned, it actually comes complete with NVIDA GForce technology, in the form of an NVIDIA GeForce 9400M chipset.

If you’ve read my other blog posts and I certainly hope you have/encourage you to do so, you will know of a post were I basically said I have debt, well yes, yes I do and you may be wondering how on earth I managed to get a brand new laptop from Apple, who make expensive (yet extremely stylish and awesome) laptops. Well I’ll tell you, I actually saved up! I saved up for three long months, and I was able to afford it, it didn’t stick to my plan however because I was far too impatient to wait until I could afford it without leaving me pretty much broke too /sigh! However come next pay day I’m getting back on track with my savings and I’ll have my overdraft paid off by the time I graduate (or plan to graduate anyways).

(This post was written just under a month ago. A lot has happened since I drafted this post, I was actually on the bus home for my late and dearly missed Aunt’s funeral.)

Can’t sleep. . .

Okay if you hadn’t guessed from the title of this post I’m having trouble sleeping tonight. I know the cause(s) and some how it’s not worrying me!

I usually like to get seven hours sleep but can function on four. I’m usually good at getting to sleep too, that is when I actually force myself to bed! However sometimes I plauge myself with thoughts and my mind just can’t shut down. I have this problem of over thinking everything.

Tonight is no exception, I have plans tomorrow with someone and sods law means I can’t sleep and therefore won’t be at my best for said meeting!

Oh well gonna try and get at least an hour, just watch though I bet I can fall asleep and won’t want to wake up in a few hours to get ready!

(Oh and for some reason my iPhone keyboard isn’t auto caping at the start of a new sentiance like usually, annoying! Just on this post it seems hmmmm!)

So this is Christmas. . .?

Yes tonight I put my Christmas lights on for the full night! Christmas has begun for me at least!

On Sunday my parents came up and with their help I was able to do a BIG shop at Tesco. I had decided as soon as I had first seen them at work that I was going to get my very first full sized Christmas tree and decorate it with lights etc. and that’s just what I bought! I was so excited, I finally had the room to do it too!

With the help of my Mum (actually she did most of the work hehe <3) I got it all set up! I refused to keep the lights on however because it was “too soon” but I just can’t hold out any longer haha! Besides Advent has started! The pictures below are of course my new tree! Now where are those presents to go under it huh?!

In other news I got past the first stage of the Tesco Graduate Options application and today I had to book a time slot for them to phone me up for a telephone interview! I’m so nervous I’m not a good telephone speaker, I get so nervous making calls to strangers and even friends and family! However I want this job SO BAD that I will get through it!

Blogging from my lecture. . .

Well I’m in my Computer Ethics lecture. Using my iPhone to write this post (most of them are written this way btw) and I’m tired, yes very tired!

He’s just going over the coursework, what he’s looking for not in terms of content but how it should be presented and about refrencing. I’m not worried, I should be worried but I’m not. All my coursework from this semester is due in January so yeh my Christmas shall be filled with writing! I got a good start last night, but have a long way to go!

I have a lot to do and not a lot of time to do it in and it doesn’t help that I have so many shifts at work but that’s to help me in the future (and I also need the money too hehe).

I will get this done. I must get this done.

Is it really that time of year again?!

It’s not even December and I’ve begun thinking about Christmas! Perhaps it’s because I work in a supermarket were they have to sell Christmas products as early as possible! However I think it’s really because lately the temp outside has suddenly dropped! We have seen frost even ice! Today I really had to watch my step on my way to a friends!

All this has led me to start listening to Christmas music, a task I usually keep to the month of December ONLY! Hmm perhaps it’s just a passing phase and I can wait a few more weeks before really blasting them out and getting my Christmas films on the go (last year I bought a few awesome ones)!

One thing is certain I have the right size of room this year to have my very own full sized Christmas tree!

I must be getting old. . .

Yep I must be getting old because I really want my own place! I came home tonight to the smell of cigutette smoke, I really am sensitive to that smell! It doesn’t matter how faint it is I can smell it and I do NOT care for it! No offence to my friends and readers who do smoke but it’s just some that I don’t like doesn’t mean I don’t like you! Also there were beer cans and glasses in the kitchen and yeh I don’t mind a party heh don’t get me wrong but I just know they will come back here after where ever my flatmates have been and make noise! I can’t stand speaking or laughing when I’m trying to sleep lol! So yeh I need a place of my own, and in fact I’ve been wanting that for a year or so! Just want some place to call my own, I have come to the conclusion however that if I were to get my own flat or even house I want to do it right! 2 bedrooms (yep just for me!) and all that jazz hehe! To do this I need to get further in my career which I’m well on my way to do, it’s in my grasp!

Who knows where I’ll be in a years time? I know I’ll still be with Tesco and well that’s the point! I love the company (my friends would say too much lol) and that’s why I have decided to apply for the Tesco Graduate programme! I’m so very excited about this you have no idea! I will be a future Store Manager if get accepted, you have no idea what that would mean to me! I will be extremely hard work but all things that are worth achieving should be hard work right?! I need to get an upper second degree which will be challenging but I think not beyond my reach especially since 4th year is 80% written work (I’m a good writter or I would like to think so at least where essays are concerned)! I have to be UK mobile for the programme so who knows where I could be sent but it will be a chance to meet new people and challenges. Just today I was asked if I wanted to change departments so I could gain more experiance, downside however is that I have to start at 6am!! Not good when I have uni so will have to see what can be done to compromise.

Anyways I start at 9am tomorrow so I really must try and sleep (before the drunks come back)!

All in a days work!

Blogging from my bed again, it’s the best way to do it in my opinion heh, at least this personal one :)

Anyways just wanted to fill you in on what I’ve been up to today! Slept in lol, I just kept ignoring the alarm :( wasn’t late just it left me with no time to get breakfast first! After my class I set about trying to calculate my UCAS points for the Gruduate application I’m filling in for my work (shall blog about that when I’ve completed it!).

Worst thing about today was my iPhone thinking I was in England lol when I’m clearly not! I’ve read a few forums and it’s not limited to my phone and it seems to go back to normal after a few hours!

Really need to get to sleep now, will-power is slipping away from me to keep my eyes open!

Night x

I have a plan!

I have been thinking recently about my debt, mainly my sizeable overdaft debt not my student loan which I don’t have to worry about yet!

I have quite a large student overdraft sadly and it all sounded wonderful when I took it out but now that I’m nearing the end of my university career I’m getting extremely worried about clearing it off and getting back into the black! I’m not gonna say exactly how much I’m in the red but let’s just say it’s BAD! The higher the limit the easier it was to spend the money it seemed and it stops now I tell you, because with no doubt it just has to! This month has been, I think really bad in terms of the amount I have spent on clothes meep!

However I am a man with a plan! Thankfully I’m not the kind of person who gets really depressed about these sorts of things, I’m a problem solver! The excess spending like I said stops now, I have limited myself to only a wish list of films that I have already pre ordered from amazon and I will not buy any others! From tomorrow I will remove my debit card details from iTunes lol, that should stop be buying new music that I really don’t need! With regurds to going out, will only go out on tuesdays with friends and if possible just spend it in doors! Will limit myself to £10 per week for food etc when at work or uni and £40 for the month on food etc for home.

All in all I think this strict budget will work, it has to work! I have started saving money in another account too hopefully for a car in the future when I’m on track with my money! That’s the aim and motivation!!
